As I already told you a couple of days ago, Read My Hips is back!

This means today I sent our first newsletter, to like… all e-mailaddresses I had in my contacts (hope I didn’t annoy anyone too much), and I officially present you our new design, Feather Girl. It’s done by Gas, a designer from Italy, and I think it looks really extraordinary nice! Below here you have a preview, check of course the shop for more information, or visit the designer’s weblog!

As you can see from Doug’s post below, it’s been a while since anything happened in our Read my Hips shop. But it seems we’re getting there… finally.

A couple of weeks ago I stumbled on this little shop, and I immediately thought it would be fun to get it back alive. And to keep it running of course, but first things first… So, I contacted Douglas about it, and here I am… Busy ordering samples, judging designs, contacting printers, comparing price-offers, ordering other samples, drowning in a mass of cute girlie underwear, discussing colors, picking designs, sorting out the remaining stock,…. if you didn’t get the picture yet, here you have one of my desk as it looks nowadays:

Anyway, we’re getting there. We have a brand new design printed and it’s ready to be put online, we’ve recollected Ange et Démon to add it too, and some other designs are coming up already. But soon more on that, first we have to clean the last dust from this shop… I’ll be so happy to finally anounce the re-opening of the Read my Hips online store!

It’s just a matter of days now, so… see you soon!

We’ll be back in the summer…

As you can read in the “chocolate” post Jenny is too busy with her new life in Berlin to continue her part of the Read My Hips shop. The distance between us makes it also very hard to work and communicate in an efficient way on the further development of the shop. It has been a very frustrating month for both of us with lots of setbacks and lots of promises with nothing happening, so we descided it was better for RMH to look for another girl. Try to imagine a discussion about colors of a testprint or the fabric of a short through the phone and you’ll understand.

So at the moment I’m looking for someone else to help me run the shop, choose the best underwear & prints and keep the blog alive with fun trivial girly thingies and other usefull underwear stuff.

I’ll do my best to get the “ange et démon” printed as soon as possible but I can’t promise anything about a date. I’ll have to start from zero and I’m not that big a specialist in girly underwear. In the meantime, the shop is still open.

And a huge thanks to everybody who was so worried about us!

It’s hard. It’s hard trying to make work an online business. You have to work hard, and you have to learn a lot – from scratch. Needless to say, not everything went quite as we had hoped. It’s been a bumpy road, with many ups, and a positively good resonance, but also with many disappointments. I am sure Read my Hips will get there, eventually.

But as things are looking now, this will happen without me. On personal grounds, I have to say goodbye to Read My Hips. This will mean by no end `the end` of Read My Hips – but it is the end of a cooperation between Douglas and me.

And I just might occasionally drop in here. If only it is to see how my successor handles things

Remember my first post: I am going to eat some chocolate now.

… wake up in the morning and realize that today, you had nothing in particular to say about underwear? I feel the same way. There is only so much you can rant about hotpants, camisole, designs on hotpants and camisoles, and the process of putting designs on hotpants and camisoles. And there are only so many people who are interested in reading about it.

That is why I decided to give you a deeper insight in what lies beneath all the hotpants and briefs and camisoles. I am going back to Berlin tomorrow, and I am taking a camera. And I will write about what I see.

It is altogether clear that this city is in desperate want of underwear.

I just wrote the first Read My Hips newsletter. It’s a shortie. It has only one message: our store is open - please come visit us! You will receive it within a few days, at least if you subscribe to the newsletter. I promise healthy, useful and extremely informational reading material at regular intervals. And if you don’t like it, you just turn me off. One click and I shut up. Some would say this is an ideal world.

Although we are not yet ready to announce the shop open to the public, the visitor rates are more than encouraging. Especially Carte au Tresor is selling quite well. Should we thank Keira, Johnny and - what’s that blonde elves’ name again? - for this? I would say it at least helps a little. AAaaarrrr!

For now, let’s just all thank Constance, the designer of this piece of piratewear, who made the picture in the middle. Thank you, dear!

Good or Evil?
I don’t know but it’s damn cute

Cocotte is finally there! It is printed it on Bella underwear and looks gorgeous, cute and funny - just like it is supposed to look. It will be available in our shop shortly.

A photoshoot is planned, in order to present the Read My Hips underwear in a more attractive and fashionable way. Underwear is meant to be worn and that is why in the future we will present it on a model. So you will have two reasons to check out our shop!

Apart from the photoshoot and still more upcoming designs these are exciting times for Read My Hips. A lot of changes will happen, and we hope all of them to solve a lot of problems that we have been dealing with in the past. One thing is sure: everything will go faster. As we are now partly situated in Berlin, we hope to find a much quicker and effective way to produce. A new printer will be a good start for the future of our shop.
